Caravan Capers: Day 14 and 18

This story happened on: 11/01/2015

Day 14   I have visitors! My daughter Kate and my best friend Debbie have now seen the caravan – and they both want to put orders in for one! Kate would move in tomorrow given the chance - it was love at first sight and other than panicking that she’d broken the caravan door (she hadn’t) it was a very successful visit. The same goes for Debs who now has an amazing business idea to put to Baileys inspired by her stay. The closing door that separates the living area from the bedroom has really come into its own (I often rise at silly ‘o’ clock, which is fine when I’m on my own, but not so good for any room mates - so the door really has saved the day).

Day 18   Yesterday I had the idea of an evening soirée for the panto cast. We get on well as a company and so tonight, on a rare evening off, I invited everyone round for a small gathering – partly because it seemed a jolly thing to do and partly because I was fascinated to see if we could all squeeze in. We did (just). There wasn’t room to set all the food out though, so Claire and Vinny kindly agreed to let me use the little CL info shed for that. Clean, bright and well equipped with every possible leaflet about things to do in the area, it also had a couple of useful surfaces to lay all the food out.

I gave my guests a loo lesson so everyone was familiar with the system, and as usual I over-catered (I hate the thought of anyone going hungry) but we all had a wonderful time (mulled wine always goes down well) and sang Tamla Motown songs well into the night (having made sure I was the only caravan on the site…!)
