Weekend at Longleat safair park

This story happened on: 01/10/2012

Hi all, my wife and I are fairly new to caravanning and have visited some lovely club sites this year including the Cheddar club site which is so lovely and perfectly placed for the George.  This weekend 28th – 30th September we visited the Longleat safari caravan club site and were blown away by the superb club site standards and it’s physical location to the safari park being only a ten minute walk to Lord Bathurst stately home and the adventure play park.  Despite the fact that we are both in our late 50’s we so much enjoyed the park’s facilities there are boundless adventures for both young and old and if you are looking for quieter visiting times then now is a great time to visit.  Driving around the park looking at the animals is such a pleasure we even made it through the monkey enclosure with all the car parts intact plus another must is the maize but do leave about four days to find your way through it because it’s amazzzzing.
Just one word of warning if you are approaching from the M4 via the A46 do not be tempted to follow your sat navigation short cut down Toll bridge road to Mill lane (Note: not to be confused with the Mill lane entering into Longleat estate from the A362 which you must take) off the London road west (near Bath) through to the A36 because there are bridges that are barley wide enough to walk through let alone drive a car and caravan plus a £1.20 toll but the good news is there are plenty of alternative routes, this is also my first review so sorry if it is confusing.
We loved the experience and intend to return again and we hope that you will enjoy it as much as we did.
