Unusual Caravan uses

This story happened on: 13/03/2012

I wonder what unusual uses you have come across for caravans? Back in 1990, I along with three other candidates was being interviewed over two whole days for a village school headship. The school did not have anywhere for the candidates to wait between interviews, presentations etc, and obviously did not want to close the school for the two days- and a parent governor hit on a solution. She lent the school her (rather small) caravan, which was parked on the edge of the playground, and we four had to share the settees either side of the small table. We were literally cramped up next to each other for significant periods of time- not ideal for us, but there you are! The happy ending to the story (at least for me!) was that I was chosen to be the head teacher, so the stressful procedure and lack of space was worthwhile.

Not so unusual, but fortuitous, we have had to use our old 5th wheel caravan as a storage unit for the belongings of 3 different family members. Unfortunately twice it was after bereavements, as it was the only thing large enough that was vacant,  but on the 3rd it was for between house purchases, which was not so bad.
