Bonnie Scotland

This story happened on: 13/08/2013

Well Ive just done another 5 week trip over the border and enjoyed every minute of it although I was there mainly for work purposes I did an awful lot of sightseeing.

The woods caravan site near Alloa was a great place to be, the surrounding Ochil hills are a great backdrop and there is a great cycling and dog walking area just across the road.

We went to see Alloa tower, Sauchie tower, Auchinbaird windmill, Falkirk wheel, Stirlling mills, Culross with cobbled narrow streets, smallest bar in Scotland (so they say) in Kinkardine, the walks along the canal and plenty more in the surrounding areas.

On top of that we had great weather and I never got bit once by the midges unlike where I am now (Kielder water)

I met a fella from Glasgow and it was his first visit only 30 minutes from his home and he said he will definately visit again.

The wardens were ever so helpful, there is a restaurant at the opening which is by no means noisy which serves good food and locals use it for the quality on offer.

There is a childrens play area at the bottom of the site but that area still has terrific views.

We will go back when in the area again.
