Another short CL break

This story happened on: 03/03/2014

5 days at mains farm CL in Cumbria, Seth (dog) and I set off thursday and friends brought o/h on saturday.

Been to mains a few times and introduced our friends there, they like it so much they store their van over winter and go up for long weekends.

There are some lovely walks around the area where we can let the dog off the lead.

This time was very wet & muddy and everything was covered in mud, luckily we take a porch awning to get the wet, muddy gear off.

The local pub has just won Northern pub of the year, folk go from literally miles around infact as far away as Lockerbie for the great meals.

After mains we went to Stackstead farm CL at Ingleton where they even have there own gym & pool although we didnt use them they look very clean and tidy.

From there you have an abundance of local villages &  small towns within a 10 mile radius, also the waterfalls, caves & forest of bowland.

The wind was so bad on night we thought the awning would be gone by morning infact we were unsure if the van would still be upright, luckily for us all was well and after that we had 3 days of wonderful sunshine.

It will take a bit to mend the awning as there are only 3 straps left for pegging, it will need a very good clean and 2 poles are broke, thats how bad the winds were.

Can't complain mind, we van all year whatever the weather and its a small price to pay for our R&R away from work.

Another few weeks or so and we'll be away again.

Not sure who loves getting away the most, me ,O/H or Seth, think equal amounts really as we're always all up for it.
