Pegasus Genoa

This story happened on: 02/09/2012

I tow a Pegasus Genoa with a Ford Mondeo diesel and find it unstable. I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem.  Since putting a heavier nose weight 95 kilos + and loading the floor of the caravan it has improved, but still not as stable as our previouse van which was a Pageant Monarch. Has anyone got any ideas of how to make it more stable?

Sorry can't help with your enquiry but I tow a 2009 Bailey Pageant Sancerre (1450 max kg) with a Mondeo deisel and does so smoothly, effortlessly and with barely a twitch even at motorway speeds... Assume your tyres/pressures etc all ok Do you have an end washroom with lots of water left in the toilet system while you tow?

I have a Pegasus 534 with a Land Rover Freelander.  The towed weight is well within the 85% limit and the Freelander has  150 K max noseweight limit, but the Alko tow hitch of the van is rated at 100k.  Without knowing exactly your weights it could be that the noseweight is too heavy
