Coniston Park Coppice- First CC Visit

This story happened on: 03/09/2013

Well the day came.  7 nights away beckoned at the Park Coppice site with three other adults and two young and energetic grandchildren.  Wasn't expecting too much of a relaxing holiday !!

We'd only experienced a weekend away in our caravan which was a 'test' before the main holiday.  The trials and tribulations of that weekend are documented elsewhere.

Pleased to report that setting up went a lot better including the dreaded awning.  Still posed a challenge but it was a 1-1 draw this time where last time the awning beat us with a 5-0 drubbing.  I've left a review of the site elsewhere but it was nice to experience a CC site as the only other one visited was a smaller non CC site.

It was unfortunate that we had to vist on a BH weekend as it was really busy but it certainly gave us an insite (no pun intended) on what we can expect from a CC site.  Me and the wife slept in the awning which was a novel experience and certainly the nearest I have slept to the stars in 57 years !!  The sleeping bag was quite comfy.  Perhaps me and the wife can get away on our own and actually sleep and spend some time in the caravan next time ??

Glad you enjoyed Coniston, we shall stop off there for a few days next week on our tour around Scotland. Regards, Roy
