Haven Wild Duck touring site

This story happened on: 02/11/2012

We have been members of the Caravan Club for about 18 months and enjoyed staying at 10 or so different club sites so far.  Each one has been of an excellent standard, but we didn't realise how good until we decided to branch out this half term and book onto a Haven touring site for a change!  The difference was huge and needless to say we will not be repeating the experience.  There were over 100 uneven, waterlogged, bare earth 'pitches' to choose from, set amongst a shabby, woodland area with pot hole ridden roads and muddy verges.  Oh and I forgot to mention the freezing cold shower block, with those annoying showers which you have to press every 5 seconds to keep the water going.  I admit to having taken for granted the standards offered by the caravan club but realise now what we pay our club membership fee for.  I can see now what good value for money we get and how our membership is used to maintain such high standards.  Caravan club sites for every trip from now on!!

Couldn't agree more, we tried a C&CC site in Dorset this last Sept by Corfe Castle, Advertised as a friendly club we found the staff downright horrid. CC sites for us from here on.

hahaha. we've stayed at wild duck and i used our own caravan facilities. my eldest daughter won't came away with us unless we book with the caravan club. tried haven in the lake district. it was awful with peoples tents almost touching our bedroom window. we do get fantastic value for money with the caravan club.

Oh dear we have just booked for August with our daughter and two young grandaughters. Hopefully there has been improvements to Wild Duck this year.
