A wet weekend!

This story happened on: 08/05/2012

Back yesterday from a lovely weekend away with friends and their two girls.

Didn't go too far from home; across into the neighbouring county.  Having done what we always do and left everything til the last minute, we were struggling to find two pitches on a site for the bank holiday weekend.  Our friends came up trumps and found two on a site in Liphook - Old Barn Farm.  What a lovely place!  Sooo quiet! The owner was very relaxed, we only saw him when he came round as we were packing up to collect the pitch fees for the weekend.  (He had greeted our friends on arrival and told them we could pitch 'where we liked')  The weather wasn't the best all weekend, but the boys (and our friends girls) really didn't mind playing football in the rain, or manhunt in the boggy woods that adjoined the site!  On the Saturday evening we all went for a wander to find some Geocaches (found two) after a little detour to a pub to use the facilities!  Sunday was off into Guildford to take the children swimming at the Spectrum Leisure Centre - they had a great time.  Great pool - really poor changing facilities though.  Sunday evening was spent in our van - well the adults were! The children spent the evening in our friends van playing monopoly and scrabble and uno! (Just another reason to love 'vanning' - children actually play TOGETHER!)

Monday morning brought more rain and a damp pack up - followed by a slow trudge home.

Would we go back?  Yes, for sure.

Now to try and find a pitch for the next bank holiday ... left it a bit late again!!
