Above & Beyond

This story happened on: 02/10/2012

Hi we are just back from a week long holiday at Spruce Gill House CL inNorth Yorkshire. Where we got caught in the very heavy rainfall causing the closure of the A1/M1 for 2 days due to flooding. We arrived on the Saturday to lovely weather by Monday roads were starting to flood on way back to site we drove through flood that didn’t look to deep but dipped in middle causing water to enter our diesel engine and stop it running. We needed recovered to site which led to insurance claim and further recovery to home which all took three days to do due to road closure etc. The site owners & members on site couldn’t have been more helpful to us the owners went above & beyond what they had to even took my wife to town on Tuesday as our groceries were running out & kept in regular contact at least a couple of times a day to make sure everything was ok and progressing for our homeward journey. We would like to say thanks to them and say we will defiantly return to there site in near future hopefully when there is better weather. The site is a lovely CL on a hill with a fantastic view. A heritage railway runs past bottom of field with a station within walking distance. WC & shower block in orchard field kept immaculate & info leaflets in same block

Thanks again

Love the picture. Some people can be very helpful when you are in need but I hope you vehicle doesn't suffer like mine did when my son got it stuck in floods. The engine blew a couple of days after the water had been removed and it needed a replacement engine!
