Dougal's Dog Blog. Entry 6: Bluebells at Alderstead Heath

This story happened on: 22/04/2012

Whilst the Tin Can on Wheels was 'in' for servicing, myself and the Human that I own had to suffer the indignity of hotels and holiday cottages, but despite such setbacks we managed to have a nice time on a winter holiday in the Outer Hebrides.

As soon as we were back in the Tin Can, I insisted that we return to my favourite site, Aldrestead Heath in Surrey. The dog walks from the site entrance are amazing. This weekend, I noticed a carpet of blue flowers on the woodland floor that The Human referred to as 'Bluebells'. Well, they might be blue, but I didn't hear any ding-dongs. They didn't taste very nice either. But it seems you humans do love to see them through dappled sunlight filtering through tree branches that are bursting forth with new leaves.

The rain even held off throughout most of the weekend, although on Friday my undercarriage did get a little muddy. But The Human didn't mind... he could wash my towel in the sink afterwards and hang it out to dry in Alderstead Heath's own drying room. What a super idea!

I think I should start scoring sites. I give Alderstead Heath five bones out of five for dog-friendliness. And if you like walking through bluebells in the woods, now is the time to visit.
