Our Summer

This story happened on: 29/09/2014

On our way to visit county Durham we stayed at the Graffham Water site for three nights going and two on return. We wanted to post that this was an exceptionally friendly site with helpful and polite wardens. I temporaly  mislaid the washroom key and they were great about it and just laughed when it  surfaced.  In contrast we have been staying at Daleacres in Kent for about a week with my grandson for the past ten years or so and again the wardens were fine.

What a shock therefor this summer in late July.  Arriving as usual after 12pm we were told we were not allowed in until after 1pm. OK If that's the new rules, however there were a stream of vans all blocking the entrance and worse one elderly gentleman wa kept waiting in boilin heat for two hours. Without members there is no club and wardens should realise this and use their discretion. The rest of the week we avoided these wardens but stories were rife about their officiousness. moving people after they were set up and so on. We know a new broom sweeps clean but they are OTT and we will be looking for somewhere else next year which is a real shame.  We are on holiday not in a boot camp!!! Think twice if you are going there.
