First Trip of the Year

This story happened on: 24/04/2012

We managed to get away for our first trip of the year to the Club site at Broadway in the Cotswolds at the end of March. We were blessed with some absolutely beautifully sunny weather with daytime temperatures up the level of early summer. Mind you the nights were a different matter!

The site is situated just outside the delightful village of Broadway which is about a 10/15 minute walk away. It is quite a tourist attraction and I imagine in the height of summer it must get very busy. Whilst there were a few visitors around it was comfortable walking round and no need to queue to get a coffee!

The are many other attractions in the area including several National Trust properties and Broadway Tower near the top of Fish Hill where there are some amazing views of the surrounding countryside. The Town of Evesham is not far away either.

I was tickled pink to see the railway theme at Broadway, and especially to find out that one facilities block used to be the goods shed, and included a railway museum and rolling stock!
