Postcard from Luxembourg

This story happened on: 02/10/2013

We've passed through Luxembourg before but have never visited the capital city itself. We decided to have a two-night stopover here in the suburb of Alzingen to make amends.
Today we caught the 192 bus into the city centre: just 15 minutes journey and 2 euros each. Although the sun is low in the sky, it was pleasantly warm for our sightseeing and a visit to the Museum of the History of the city. The photos from the castle ruins were taken by Cath as Chas doesn't like heights!
A project to save Asian elephants has a display of colourful model elephants all around the old town. They're for sale to raise funds: only the lack of space in our vintage motorhome dissuaded us from buying one.
We're at Camping Bon Accueil. It's a 14 euro/night ASCSI site next to a public park with spacious pitches and modern 'sanfacs'. ACSI ref 484

That sounds a good place to visit. I see you are on your way home again, well it is still mainly dry and warm up here. Regards, Roy

We went to Luxembourg in July 2012, with our caravan, it's an amazing place, a real surprise after so many holidays in Holland. We steyed at auf kengert in Larochett. Would recommend it, wholeheartedly.
