Postcard from Krk 2013

This story happened on: 27/09/2013

Krk is the principal town on the Croatian island of Krk. It’s a seaside resort and a working port for fishing boats, including one-man boats that putter out into the bay at sunset. Although it’s now the end of the season, there are still enough customers to keep the cafés and restaurants busy. It’s our fifth visit here so obviously we like it here: we described the town last year in our Postcard from Krk.

The weather has been good with temperatures in the mid-twenties. Yesterday morning the wind got up from the south and the sea’s been a bit choppy; however, Cath still managed a swim in the afternoon. The outlook isn’t so good, so we’re thinking of starting our journey back.

We’re at Camping Ježevac just a short walk away from the town and harbour. Our pitch is one row back from the sea, separated by the playground and its pirate ship. The site is still pretty busy with oldies and young families, grouped mainly in the pitches nearest to the sea.

This morning we left Krk, but not until Cath had had her last pre-breakfast swim in the sea. We hope to be back next year.

Hope you like the photos!

Oh dear, the thought of a swim in a nice warm sea is so tempting! Is it me or are the photos looking better on here now? Hope you enjoy your return journey, it's still warm here!

Hi Chas, sorry you are on your way back now. We have just had an excellent time at Bunree with glorious weather for the time of year. Check my memory on historical things again please, LOL. Regards, Roy

We took a flight to Krk when it was part of Yugoslavia, quite a few years ago now but we are returning in our Motorhome around end of July this year.
