We wanted to get out an about on our motorhome for a few days, so we planned an 11 night trip taking in Bladon Chains, Henley Four Oaks, and Warwick Racecourse. It was the imminent expiry of our year-tickets to Blenheim Place that triggered us into action!

We also wanted to have a ‘nostalgia’ trip to Henley and Marlow as were stationed at RAF Medmenham for three years back in the Seventies. As a bonus, we got to meet David and Margaret Klyne!
Weekend Club bookings can be a problem and so we found ourselves with nowhere to go on a Friday and Saturday! Catherine solved the problem by consulting ukcampsite.co.uk, which is great for finding non-club sites in UK and Europe.
We’ve been following the Anglo-Saxon history programme on BBC4 and so chose Malmesbury, and Burton Hill Caravan & Camping Park. “Two nights? Not a problem. Looking forward to seeing you”
Malmesbury, and the campsite, proved to be delightful.

It’s a bit difficult getting down and up if you have mobility limitations, but Cath made it by taking it very slowly with frequent breaks. There is a town bus, but not at weekends. As an added bonus, there’s a Waitrose supermarket within walking distance of the campsite.
