Camping on a Cliff Top

This story happened on: 05/09/2014

The coastline here on the Costa Verde is rugged with high cliffs and small towns and villages nestling in narrow ravines that lead down to the sea. Our campsite is at the edge of the cliffs just to the east of the fishing port and resort at Luarca.

The pitches at 'Los Cantiles' are right up to the edge of the cliff

Yesterday we walked down to the town

It was overcast but warm, and we didn't see it at its best

It's a working fishing port with boats of all sizes

Last night from our pitch we could see the lights of the boats at sea, while the lighthouse's beam swept the sky.

Smile Thanks Chasncath, nice to switch on and see all these lovely photos. As we can't travel far just now due to family commitments it's just pleasant to enjoy other people's travels!

Hi, I am quite envious you are actually travelleing along the northern coast, as you know earlier we opted to go south from Portugal to avoid the rains. Then again we would have missed Tomar which we really enjoyed and if you get there you will too, I am sure. Regards, Roy
