Our First Trip - Ferry Meadows - Peterborough
This story happened on: 10/10/2012
So we joined the Caravan Club and booked in at the Sandringham Site, only the night before we were due to arrive I noticed that Sandringham is known for Seasonal Canine Illness just at the time we were going. As we have a dog I promptly cancelled our booking (just joined and already made a cancellation, not a good start in the club). We went to bed with nowhere booked but determined still to use our caravan for the first time.
We got up the next day, packed up and made a last minute booking at the Ferry Meadows Caravan Club site in Peterborough, the lady on the phone was very helpful and booked us in, a few hours later we were there, greated by Alan ( I think! sorry).
The site was great for us as we have a dog and it is in the grounds of the Nene Valley Country Park, great walks without getting into the car, plus a couple of cafes and a steam train for the kids (not that we have any). The site was immaculate and much to the joy of our dog had wild rabbits and squirrels everywhere.
Our first trip turned out great, we were planning to go to Castleton next weekend but this is fully booked.
We are looking forward to many more caravanning trips.
