two great holidays then bang

This story happened on: 14/01/2013

i got my caravan 7 months ago, having not having one for some time, the first holiday in it we went down south for a week,it was great, full of joy we returned and booked again to go north.again a great holiday.retuning home i drove to the secure site to store my van untill next holiday,a week later i got a phone call off the site owner saying my van and my son inlaws van were damaged; fuming to say the least,we shot up there to find extensive damage to both vans, the site owners or some one there was reversing my son inlaws van and went into the back of mine pushing it 6ft we asked the owner of the site about it and he denied liabillty, nedless to say we both had to claim of our own insurance,he did offer us free storage for one year,we put our vans there believing them to be safe from damage or theft, how wrong was i,i am now having to look for another van as both mine and the son ilawas were wrote off, so not a very happy bunny :(

I for one would be loath ever to leave my vehicle in a position where someone else has access/permission to drive or move it.

I guess from your remarks that the site owner had access to the motorhome keys to be able to be moving them around. In this instance unless their terms and conditions specifically try to negate any liabilty for loss or damage... (the crux is if it is due to their negligence then they cannot escape their responsibilities) any half decent solicitor would be more than happy to advise you. What about your insurance company, did they not pursue the site owner?
