Warmer Climates the Easy Way

This story happened on: 23/04/2016

On our recent trip to the CC Brecon site we made a detour on the way home to the National Botanic Gardens of Wales. We've visited a few times and never fail to enjoy these lovely gardens both outside and inside. At this time of the year it's more inside for us, there's nothing like getting your glasses steamed up in a tropical glasshouse! However, the more temperate and dry main glasshouse is a favourite. Seeing plants from as far apart as Australia and the Mediterranean area reveals all sorts of colourful and interesting displays. This year there is a separate Fungi exhibition which is worth exploring too. The gardens are about twenty minutes from Pont Abraham at the end of the M4 in Camarthenshire. One day we'll get there in summer but as usual the colder months of the year provided us with a pleasant escape.
