Exploring Exmoor

This story happened on: 24/02/2013

I'm a frequent visitor to Exmoor, it's got such a lot to offer, moorland, coast and deep set villages tucked away in green leafy valleys. We stayed last Autumn on the CC site at Dulverton, a great little site in an interesting Exmoor town. Up on the tops heading west out of Dulverton where visitors turn down towards the beautiful Tarr Steps (now being repaired) it's worth turning right instead towards Winsford. Here there are walks around the Punch Bowl and just close to the junction at Spire Cross, hidden from view is the Caratacus Stone, inscribed CARATCI NEPVS a kinsmen of the ancient chieftan Caratacus or Caractacus! Who held out against the Romans C AD 43. Worth a look!

Dear Brue, don't despair! Why not add your photos using DSB's method? Alternatively, create another 'story' just for the photos. Tip: wait till the photo's thumbnail appears in your draft after it says 100% loaded. Until the thumbnail appears, the photo hasn't really stuck.

Thanks Chasncath, weird things are happening!Cool The pics did load but then vanished, anyway I've had another go but it's the usual distortion which shows up more on the portrait format. Hope all is going well in sunnier climes!
