A Perthshire Stop-Over

This story happened on: 15/07/2015

Here's a place where we like to break our Scottish journeys. We usually stay at the Milton of Fonab commercial site which is just off the A9 in Pitlochry. This time I also booked the Pitlochry Festival Theatre in advance to see a Little Night Music which was a lovely production. The theatre is a short walk from the site and is a good place for lunches and coffees too, we had an evening meal before the performance. The theatre is very popular and it's better to book ahead.

Pitlochry is a pleasant small town with the river Tummel at it's heart. There are lots of walks locally and the famous salmon ladder. We watched people fly fishing on this visit. There is a nice walk from the site along the Tummel to the salmon laddder and dam, this also passes the plant explorers garden which commemorates the famous Scottish plant hunters.

So a short three night visit this time and then on our way south once more.
