Easter in the Brecons

This story happened on: 09/04/2015

We are coming to the end of a glorious 7days at the Pandy site in South wales. The site is small and intimate with magnificent views from the site. The area is outstanding with some wondeful places to visit. I would point out the iron works museum at Blaenavon, which gives a magnificent insight into steel making, even for those people who have worked in that industry.

That's all all about the area, but I feel I must make a point about the wardens. They went over and beyond their duties as wardens. Sometimes I feel that when you visit a Caravan Club site the wardens can be a bit aloof, whereas with Caravan and Camping Club they are more practical. But at Pandy the warden was what I would expect and he helped us onto our pitch in a tight corner after our power mover failed. When he told us he had worked as a warden for the C&CC it explained everything.

Quite often when we arrive on site as the last one or two in we have to take what is available as far as pitches go. Whereas the "other club" have already allocated a pitch in advance and tend to take into account the length of the van. Have you ever tried pitching a 7m plus van onto a 6m pitch when that is all that is left!!
