February 2013 I began my caravanning life by doing the Caravan Club Towing Course at Alderstead Heath site, in the snow, and then travelling to Wyatt’s Covert site at Denham to be united with my Bailey Orion, also nestling in the snow. It’s been my pleasure to return to this lovely site twice since, most recently last week, when I stayed with my new Bailey Pursuit while doing some filming just down the road in Denham village.
The site is in top condition, and I managed to snap the lovely Joan Gillibrand early on my departure day who was keeping the beautiful flower display at Reception up to the mark.
If you haven’t stayed at Wyatt’s Covert before it’s very conveniently positioned only about 3 miles from the M40/M25, and if you follow the directions carefully it’s a very easy approach. Denham Station is a short drive away, for frequent trains into London Marylebone or to Beaconsfield and High Wycombe if you don’t fancy driving. The site is next to an aerodrome, so there are a few helicopters and small planes coming and going in the day, but it’s very quiet at night. The pitches are very level and with enough room between to not feel crowded. Hedging also helps to give variety to the pitch layout. The toilet block is very clean - but I noticed that there were plans for a complete upgrade next year. With that work I think that Wyatt’s Covert will be among the very best sites.
Each time I’ve stayed I’ve had a warm welcome from the wardens, and Tony and Joan were lovely to meet. All being well I should be going back there for my fourth visit in August!
