Perfect location but only suitable for small caravans and motorhomes - we had some issues

The best bit about this site is its location. We booked a sea view pitch (directly with the site) and thoroughly enjoyed being so close to the calm, clear sea, watching the boats go by and seeing the lights of Sanremo at night - a truly beautiful spot. The small cove was perfect, we carried our beech chairs down, sat right by the water's edge and enjoyed swimming in the cool water, even late at night. Perfect for our paddleboard as well. The cove was never crowded, so very relaxing. Alternatively, you could sit on the loungers provided and get to the sea down a few steps. The facilities are good across the site and are cleaned regularly. We didn't use the pool, it was always so busy, but ideal for young children. We only used the restaurant once, the food was adequate. Perfect for young children though, especially with the entertainment. Sanremo is a short drive away where there is plenty of parking. We also visited Nice and Monaco. However, we would not recommend this site if you have a large caravan or motorhome. The site is down a small narrow road and the roads within the site are narrow with tight bends. We really struggled with our 8M van. The pitches are really small, we just had room for our van + sunshade - my son had to pitch his small tent underneath the sunshade and we didn't have room for our car. There are no additional parking facilities on the site so we had to park our car on the road outside the site, not ideal at all! The electric set up is strange, the box is locked, so when it tripped, we had to get someone from reception to unlock the box. We also had a horrible experience with a fellow traveller. We were told by the reception staff that grey waste could be put down the drain by the outside sink and water pipe that was near the pitch. When we did this, our Italian neighbour started shouting at us! As we couldn't understand each other, she stormed off and came back with a member of staff, who then told us we couldn't put the grey waste down the drain, even though the sink was used for washing up! Maybe just a language barrier, but it made us feel very awkward. The other thing to be mindful about is checking out time. You have to wait until staff have arrived to unlock the electric box, so we couldn't leave until 7:45am, which was a little frustrating as we had a long journey ahead. We enjoyed our stay but will certainly ensure we check out pitch sizes before we book future sites.

July stay

Overall excellent stay on a well maintained site. Lovely location on the seafront with direct access to both a pebble cove and seafront lounge and swimming area, which was very welcome to cool off. Pitches are all brick paved and a good size. With outdoor sinks shared between a few pitches and electricity close by, although has to be connected and disconnected by staff as kept locked. Limited shade on pitches which can get very hot in the daytime. Pitch was perfectly located although would perhaps in future opt for a maxi gold or seafront pitch for the direct sea views. Facilities amongst the best I have experienced with hotel style tiled showers in the newer block. Restaurant is excellent and very reasonable with some staff speaking English. They run a number of local trips and bike hire direct on site. Relatively short (40 minute) walk into Sanremo town and well stocked supermarket a 5 minute walk away. Fab site for some R and R after a busy rest of trip.

Good for access to San Remo

Disappointed with our allocated pitch adjacent to the fenced play area and as next door caravan was pitched right on the edge we couldn’t open a window. Reception were however more than happy to give us a much better pitch which was larger and with a sea view. As the site is all block paved fixing awnings was a challenge. Facilities, one quite dated the other more modern, were spotless. The site operates a cashless system with money loaded onto a card which we found quite useful, all unspent money refunded at the end of the stay. Restaurant and bar were reasonably priced and good quality. Supermarket was within 10 minute walk and well stocked. Frequent buses at site entrance to san remo meant site was perfect for motor homes.
