Stayed here first two weeks of July and had a fabulous time. Have been here twice before many years ago and noticed how the 'touring section' has started to take second place to the static chalets. The last few days of the two weeks the site began to get very busy and I have concerns as to the facilities will cope when it is in the High Season, but would still return in June/beginning of July. Excellent beach just a few minutes walk across the dunes. Cannot recommend the restaurant - very dubious pieces of steak for a lot of money, but the one site shop is kept very well stocked and all the staff on site that we spoke to were more than helpful.
Stayed here for a few nights end of June / beginning of July. Nice location as Site has gates which open directly out onto beach. Pitches surrounded by hedges - can be a bit tight for big caravans to manoeuvre onto pitch without a mover. Toilet & shower block fine. Good shop on site. Motorhome service point is outside of site across road - drain & a cabinet with a water tap inside & a very large angry looking wasp in its cone - beware. From site you can walk or cycle to a village in either direction along beach but not much at either other than a few restaurants / shops.
We chose this site for various reasons: It was open in April ( several are not). It was on the south end of Brittany which is marginally drier and warmer than the north coast. I t was not so far to drive ( we had already driven over 500 miles to get to Portsmouth form Aberdeen. We wanted a site with an indoor pool so we could enjoy a daily swim. We wanted a site on the coast. La Plage met all of the above criteria. We really liked the area - vaguely like our home. The staff were courteous and obliging. The on site shop and takeaway served us well. The site was really really quiet, deserted almost, once the tail end of the French Easter break dissipated and the families with youngsters departed. The area was easy to explore by bike. To quote Arnold Scwartzneger "I'll be back!"
We found the staff were very helpful and the facilities were very clean etc. the food in the restaurant was very nice, with good service and we enjoyed the local bread and pastries sold in the shop. There was also entertainment in the bar, if you wanted it. The beach and surrounding area was lovely. It was a bit tight getting the Caravan out, not so much the size of the pitch but the narrowish road leading to it.
We did have to leave a day early, the reason being due to the Ferry time. The site gate is locked between 11pm and 7 am, if we had left it until the day of departure, we would not have made the sailing, which was 10 am. so we travelled up the night before and parked overnight at the Ferry Terminal, which is permitted for Caravans. On the whole we had an enjoyable and memorable stay at Village La Plage.
We recently returned after 2 brilliant weeks, beautiful beach, blue sea, peaceful at night, lovely walks, very good facilities, a great introduction to Brittany
Just returned from our first visit abroad with our motorhome. The site was welcoming from the moment we arrived and we had a lovely flat grassed pitch. The toilet block was very clean but our visit was still in June - we did wonder if there would be enough toilets in the height of the summer. The little shop sold essentials and the bread was lovely each day but with St Guilvenac and its great market and 2 supermarkets close by we did not need much more. We did not use the restaurant although others said it was good. The bar and pool area were always clean. The young man trying to organise the entertainment made us laugh. The direct access to the most beautiful beach is a great plus. We will definitely be returning next year.
