Busy but well provided for in July!
This Yello Village site provides some very good facilities for caravaners but as with many large sites, becomes a little impersonal because of the size. The organisation themselves are about making money so beware - they charge for anything they are able to levy a fee on including the provision of wi-fi on the pitch.
We also found that while the shower and toilet blocks were very good - they perhaps needed more thorough cleaning when busy!! However, the pitches were of a fair size and many offer shelter from the sun we experienced when there - a necessary comfort when the temperature is in excess of 30C-34C. Overall the site is of good quality for campers or caravaners and, there are also some statics and cabin accommodation there too.
The town of St Emilion is a comfortable twenty five minute walk away (and certainly not 15 as described by another reviewer unless an athlete) and though a very busy place, it offers the red wine lover plenty of scope for choice. With 118 wine chateaux under the St Emilion banner, almost every field is a vineyard!!
The underground church is certainly worth the money for a guided tour and the steep cobbled streets of the town also provide many restaurants; wine shops and local produce is also available.
