Our seventh visit

We have visited this site seven times at various times of the season and yes it can get very busy but we have always have enough space and always had a river view. The toilet/shower facilities are now perfect and spotlessly clean. When we started to visit the site in 1999 the shower block was a wooden hut with a vine growing through the middle but still clean. It is a super spot to visit Koblenz, Cologne and Frankfurt which we do by train and the service is excellent. We give it a ten every time.

Excellent for stopover

We used this site on our way to and from Austria as an acceptable distance from Calais.  We stayed for 1 night each side of our trip.  The location is very pretty and close to the Rhine - on our second stay we had a riverside pitch which was lovely especially watching the geese and swans.  It is obviously a busy site and every inch of the space is used so it did feel a little cramped compared to some UK sites we have stayed at.  Having said that we can honestly say we have never been so spoilt with regards to the toilet and shower facilities - just lovely and they even had piped music which was a great touch.  The bar and terrace overlook the river and they had a small selection of snacks available as well as a campsite shop with bread etc..  There is a lovely public outdoor swimming pool right next door which costs 4 Euro which is highly recommended for a cooling swim. The river has a very flat path running all the way along it and many people use this to cycle, walk and run.  We wish we had taken our bikes with us as it is such a stunning location for gentle exercise - next time we will take bikes.  I can't see us staying here for more than a couple of nights but would recommend it as a decent, clean place to rest your wheels.

Great touring caravan stay

We have just returned from a really great 10 days in Rudesheim. The site is extremely well run by the owner, who seems to have endless energy cycling around to show us our pitches! The Rhine was very full following the flooding they had during June but it did not spoil our time there as the town and surrounding areas are really beautiful and clean. The facilities on the site i.e. shower/toilet blocks are the best I have ever seen, very modern and I think very new. It did however,  get very busy at the start of July, and maybe during the school holiday season would be very jammed in.Would we return, most definitely!!

Two nights at Rudesheim

We stayed for two nights and found the site very pleasant and quiet.  Location excellent for access to town.  Staff very helpful and site facilities absolutely spotless and well maintained.  Ferry access to and from site very easy and not congested.

Caravan June 2016

We have just returned from a five day stay and can only agree that this is an excellent site and a great area to visit. We found the town friendly and welcoming with some great eating/drinking places. It is a tourist destination but there are still places to go 'off the beaten track'. Highly recommended.

Still a great place to stay

We had 3 nights on site on our way to southern Germany and 2 on the way back. As ever the site and staff were very welcoming and friendly. The facilities on site are excellent and the local town is still as quaint as ever. We will use this site any time we are heading in that direction and may plan a longer stay next time to explore a bit further.

campsite Rudesheim 12/06/2016

We stayed here for a week(sun/sun)when we arrived at the reception the manager greeted us and spoke good english, showed us to our pitch which he sites you was facing the Rhine.. The toilet/ shower block are the cleanest i have ever since, lovely calm music playing in the toilets too, the only problem we had was nobody knew (other caravanners) where to empty the waste water so we empty it down the chemical toilet.restaurant was good too.A good 20 minute walk along the river will take you to the town of Rudesheim which was really nice, lovely shops and plenty of Restaurants to choose from.supermarkets(aldi, lidl) are only 15 min walk from the campsite.I will definitely be coming back.

A great site in an attractive part of the Rhine Valley

We have just returned from six enjoyable nights. The owners have worked hard for over twenty years to make this a neat, tidy and clean site with two spacious and modern facilities blocks. The site is a ten minute walk from the centre of the small tourist town and a similar walk to Lidl, Aldi and REWE. There are lots to do in the area - a stroll around town, walks in the hills, chair lifts, ferries across the river to Bingen and cruises down stream. We had a train trip to Mainz - an interesting small city - and Koblenz is only an hour away by train. Pitches are not defined, but you will always to 'sited' by the site team who manage the electrical hookups for you. They like to rotate things to protect the grass - after a wet period only caravans and small campers were allowed in some areas. We choose to pitch our motorhome at the far (quiet) end, close to the smaller toilet block (only the large block has showers). Hardstanding pitches close to the gate were available if we had wanted. The small shop/bar/cafe with a tables outside is very good. Local beer and wine are inexpensive and a small range of simple meals and snacks seemed to go down well. Two points to note. The pitches nearer the main block are close to berths for large cruise boats. These have to run their generator sets when they are berthed and some can be a bit noisy, although most leave before midnight. Whilst the motorhome hardstandings each have a tap and a grate for grey water, the method of disposing of grey water at the facilities blocks is a bit unclear. We found it easiest to empty our 'wastemaster' down 'chemical' toilet system. I did not see a 'service point' for motorhomes.

Campingplatz Rüdesheim am Rhein is a fantastic site owned by the Richter Family.

Great site in great location right on the banks of the Rhein. The owner Oliver Richter and his family are very friendly and helpful and cannot do enough for their guests. The toilet block is immaculate and always clean. You can order fresh rolls daily and there is a swimming pool next door.

Excellent Site

Location is very good, lots to do in and around Rudesheim. Site clean and tidy. Toilet blocks are the best you will ever find. Owner and all staff extremely helpful obliging and courteous. We visited twice this year and once last year and will probably go again next year. Cannot praise highly enough.
