The site is very difficult to find even with the caravan club instructions, do not rely on your sat nav it takes you out of town, up to the woods, we helped several caravans who could not find the site it is not well sign posted. Excellent facilities very clean, showers are only located in the toilet block by reception, sometimes you may need to queue in the ladies showers. Site is ideal for supermarket and walk along the river to town. Site staff are very helpful and speak English . Lovely scenery and castles in area. If you like dry wine there are loads in the area, if you like dessert wine it's very expensive . One evening at 11pm the local youths decided to play loud music under the ruined bridge at the end of the campsite, which the owner of site quickly sorted out.
Pitches are close together but ours was very nice.
Rudeshiem is very pretty the shops are mainly souvenir shops and prices are expensive, these I think are for the cruise ships that go up and down the Rhine with American and Chinese tourists,
The pitches were very tight which we initially did not like but as the time went on we became accustomed. The site is clean and well maintained and the staff friendly. Not much on site for children and nothing for teenagers, however just outside the camp is a community swimming pole area. Supermarkets are 5 minutes away and the town of Rudershiem is a pleasant walk. We used the site as a base for sightseeing and made the most of our time there.
At first the campsite looked horribly crowded, hardly any space between vans but this wasn't actually a problem at all, just different. A small restaurant, bar and shop on the site. The location of the site is perfect. We didn't use the car at all in 6 days. The lovely town is a walk along the Rhine with lots of shops and restaurants and a choice of supermarkets even closer around the back of the camp. Tourist information is in the town and the staff were so helpful, you can buy tickets in there. The river is perfect for cycling. A choice of boat trips on your doorstep, great value, we paid 20 euros each for a 4 and a half hour trip that you could get off and on, really beautiful trip. Cable car up the hill and down to the next town if you want and some interesting museums in the town. Swimming pool next door and lots more to do in the surrounding area (castles, wine tasting). There is also a train station for trips further afield. And spacious, modern and clean toilets and showers! A downside was wi-fi was only outside reception (no indoor space). Would definitely recommend this site.
August 2016 - Good site on the banks of the Rhine. Riverside location, short walk into town, right next door to local pool and easy access to some other beautiful parts of the Rhine. Facilities are good. Some pitches are close together - especially for those only stopping for a few nights - but this wasn't a problem, and the ample trees mean it doesn't feel crowded.
Enjoyed our stay.
July 2016: We really enjoyed our stay here on the Rhine. It was an easy and pleasant walk into the town, which had plenty of good eating and drinking places with quaint and typically German buildings and atmosphere.
Having changed our plans for our return route from Italy, we booked a further 4 nights here and fitted in a Rhine cruise. The weather was great on both visits. The local cable car up to the monument was good value and well worth the trip.
Another pleasant stay at Rudesheim. Excellent facilities and even though we stayed during the summer busy period the site and location was still restful.
Excellent facilities and convenient for local town, supermarkets, and Rhine cuises
This was our second visit to this campsite and we were very disappointed this time. We stayed in mid July and the campsite was very cramped. There are no defined pitches and on our return one day we had a caravan so close that if you stood between them and stretched your arms you could touch both caravans. No privacy at all. Location is fantastic as you can cycle from here on cycle paths and walk into Rudesheim and facilities are clean but showers are only available in one toilet block and can become very busy in peak season. pitches are definitely not 100 m sq as advertised. Not sure we would return.
We used this site as our base for summer holiday. Fantastic site very clean and well run. On site facilities excellent. Very relaxed atmosphere and staff always on hand to help. Lots to do in the area with several river cruises, beautiful area to drive around and main line train station located over river (frequent river crossings available for under 2 pounds) at Bingen. Highly recommend.
Stayed 2 nights and enjoyed
Strolling along Rhine and looking at all the cruise ships before arriving at the lovely town
The facilities are indeed impressive
Have to return sometime!
