This was our first trip to France with the caravan. As others have said we had great difficulty finding the site from the north - we made the mistake of using the sat nav and ended up in the woods! However we much enjoyed our stay and found the site to be peaceful, with good privacy and nice and clean. How refreshing to be given free wi fi, take note caravan club!! Don't expect British Caravan Club luxury in the toilet blocks - but at £14 a night it is remarkable value. There are very large carp (20Kg plus) in the huge nearby lake (take note you anglers) and Pont-Audemer street market on Monday and Friday is very good. Honfleur is also lovely and not far away. I expect the majority of children would rather have more to do on site - but we are middle-aged and enjoyed walking round the lake and into Pont - Audemer just over a mile away. We also popped to Paris on the train - 1 1/4 hours from Bernay station but quite expensive (about £40 return). We will be back as Arnie would say!
We stayed for one night on our way to Calais from Royan. The directions to the site were totally inadequate and need updating. It didn't help that the directions given, both on the website and in the Europe site guide, were from Le Harve and the north. it took us an hour to find the site, basically going round in circles. Finally we used Sat Nav with more success, but still ended up in the Nautical Club (that was a tight turn round!). The site is very badly advertised, even at the entrance. On arrival the staff were pleasant, though not very informative, e.g. water and electric points we had to find for ourselves. The pitches were adequate, but tight for an awning and a longer stay. We weren't troubled by road noise and didn't actually tour the rest of the site, due to our late arrival. The surrounding area and woodlands, of which we saw a lot ! were beautiful and would probably warrant another visit.
