Choose your pitch carefully

We stayed here in mid July 2017 as a final site following our tour of France before catching the Santander Ferry (40 miles away). The pitches are on the small side and are 'crammed in' and most of them are not level. We were allocated a pitch close to the 5 a side football area - complete with the noise that one would expect from this. I wonder if the club are aware of the standard of pitches being allocated to it members. The site was very busy with many families on site. It is a shame that none of the parents seem to be interested in what their offspring were getting up to. Notwithstanding this, there was a friendly atmosphere around the camp. Can't fault the facilities. Clean and plenty of hot water. I booked the site via the Caravan Club and was told that the minimum stay was 3 nights. I learnt from the proprietor that if I had booked direct then I could have stayed for one night. The site's only saving grace is that you can walk (15 minutes) to a very nice beach and there are some very nice views of the countryside as you do so.

Best views

We chose this site as the first stop on our 8 week tour and it was an excellent choice. Very easy to find from Santander port, which is always a bonus! Great site with amazing views of the Picos de Europa mountain range from your pitch. Bar and restaurant excellent. The food was lovely and amazing value. The toilet block was very traditionally Spanish and exceptionally clean at all times. We would definitely return to this lovely site.

Excellent site

The facilities at this beautifully maintained site are excellent. It is ideally positioned 45 minutes from Santander in beautiful countryside with views of the Picos mountains and a short walk from a fabulous beach. Francis and his staff are superb - and the restaurant on the site serves an excellent choice and quality of food. We will definitely be back next year.

Stunning

We have just had 11 nights at this site. So glad we chose it. The team were lovely and Francisco in particular (one of the owners) was particularly helpful. We have a large twin axle caravan and the pitch we were given was fine for it. The site and facilities are clean and tidy. There is good washing facilities if needed.   We ate in the restaurant and the food was lovely. The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome.  A lot of Spanish use this for seasonal pitches and we could see why, it's beautiful!!!! The views are stunning of the mountains, beach just down the road and a perfect base for doing the sightseeing. We are so pleased we decided on this site, we will be going back.  The scenery in and around the area is stunning, beautiful architecture, gorgeous beaches and everyone was friendly and helpful. As you can tell we just loved it!!!

Nearly missed the site, but worth finding!

The name of this site is different from how it appears in the Caravan Club book. But we found it with help from another campsite.  The owner is very helpful and English is spoken. Facilities are very clean and warm. The site is in a beautiful part of Cantabria  within 2kms of the beach at Oyambre.  The restaurant has good food at great value.  The site even helped with a small mechanical problem, at no charge.  Well worth a visit.

Wonderful site

Location was very good and easy to find. Toilet and shower block clean and heated. Free Wifi on site. Electric and water on every pitch. Very helpful. Fresh bread delivered daily. Fresh milk available. Very open, clean and tidy site. As it was off season the bar and restaurant were closed. Beach within walking distance - about 1km away. I would not hesitate to recommend this site to all members.

A GEM OF A SITE

Picked this site just because of its closeness to ferry and what a gem we found. Could not fault anything and possibly the best site we have visited in Spain. Excellent facilities, very good restaurant and obliging staff. Sitting in our awning having breakfast with the sun shining on the peaks of the Picos de Europa and the sound of the sea breaking on the beach behind us, magic. Life doesn't get much better.

Lovely site, recommended.

We stayed in April 2015 and were there when the CC came to inspect. It is no surprise this site is now included. The facilities were exceptionaly clean and a pleasure to use. The restaurant provides delicious meals at an unbelievably reasonable rate and the staff are so friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately it wasn't warm enough to use the pool but it looks very inviting. We loved our stay here and its only a short drive to Santander so very handy for the Ferry.
