We stayed at Playa Joyel from 29th May to 16th June. The site is right on a stunning beach and its position cannot be faulted but other things were not so good. On arrival it seemed to be a lively site but we found out that this was due to it being a weekend and during the week it was very quiet, as was the town with almost all the bars and restaurants closed except at weekends. The facilities are very clean but on arrival were were informed that there was only one toilet block open and it was not easy to get a decent pitch that was a reasonable distance form the facilities due to the large numbers of seasonal pitches. We would recommend the site but with the caveat that outside of July/August you may get limited facilities and not a great choice of pitches.
