Our plan was to stay here for a couple of nights and then take public transport back into Madrid. Too far and too isolated to do this for a day, we just went to explore the locality on foot. Paths ill marked and blocked made this a frustrating experience. Maybe in the summer there is more to do and see around but it was cold and there was a permanent "Mordor" type cloud over us the whole time we were there. The site was empty and the toilet block (good facilities) was quite a way from us. And it was very expensive for what we got!! Won't stop here again.
I was there for 3 nights in February 2015. The approach to the site was difficult and it was at least 8km from the motorway. Genuine warm welcome but very isolated with only me and 2 other vans on site. The restaurant was only open at weekends. The nearby villages were like North Wales in winter, cold, little happening with most dwellings closed up. I thought the site was too isolated to be a satisfactory short halt from the N/S route. The nearby town of Buitrago del Lozoya was interesting, as was Segovia but the visit there required I negotiate one of two mountain passes in rather difficult winter weather. The swimming pool had excellent mountain views so I guess in summer the site is a good place to stop
