Fantastic site

Really lovely site. Very friendly & helpful staff. Large pitches & lovely pool area. The site has a very 'rustic' feel to it & would highly recommend. Lovely area of France & excellent for cycling.

One of our favourite sites

Wonderful laid back site where all the staff are very friendly and helpful. Really hesitate to recommend in case it becomes too popular!!!!!! It is on an island which is one of the most welcoming and beautiful spots you could imagine where life goes back about 20 years. This year was our 3rd visit but won't be the last by any means.

fantastic chill out holiday

It was just the 2 of us but lots of happy families around - too quiet for teenagers probably. Overall everyone seemed as chilled out as us. The site had everything you could ask for in a straight forward and modest style. A holiday rep told us that even in the busy full weeks the overall tone of friendliness and relaxed atmosphere was around. We were incredibly lucky with the weather but I really do not think that was the major reason maybe the influence of this interesting little holiday island was the real factor. Give it a go, we will be back.

New favourite site in france

Stayed end July for 10 nights...what a fab site, staff very helpful and friendly..nice bar and food...great pool area supervised by a funny lifeguard,on the ball and whistling at anyone breaking pool rules, which was fine as meant very safe ...beaches are ace ,east coast ,calm and west coast a little more livelier good for body boarding surfing,Les huttes being our favourite ,great cycling all around ..we did 3 trips out from site on bikes about 10/12 miles all on flat ground and mainly on cycle only routes as well as the short cycle out and just around the site each day to local shop ,park.....had friends visit from a site by Royan ,who said they would also be booking this site next year as it seemed a lot more friendly and personal, definitelygoing back next summer..10/10

9night stay

Arrived two days earlier than planned, phoned in advance and was advised there wasn't a problem, Annika in reception was very friendly, as were all the staff, it helps having a Brit member of staff, Pitch was large level and grassy, facilities were very clean, nice pool bar area and restaurant. Lovely island good for cycling. Leclerc hyper market nearby. Highly recommend.

Le Domaine d'Oleron

We arrived 26th of June and were greeted by very friendly staff. We were taken and shown our pitch and informed that if we needed anything we only had to ask. We stayed here last year and decided to stay longer this year. It has a lovely supervised swimming pool excellent bar and restaraunt. The island is delightful and is perfect for cycling. The site comes highly recommended.

Our trip to France

Our first time to France with our caravan was an exciting prospect. We chose Camping domain d'Oleron as it looked stunning and the reviews were very good. We were not disappointed. It is a beautiful campsite. The owners and staff were so helpful and welcoming. They speak perfect English and those that do not, well we made the effort to speak our limited French.  The pitches are roomy and shaded as it did get very hot. We had ample room for our caravan an two awnings as we had friends staying with us. The restaurant/bar serves good food and has a variety of drinks. There are shops nearby I.e. The lelerc and super u plus a lidles. I 100% recommend this site. The pool area is lovely. We will be returning next year as there are lots of areas we did not see and this is a good base to have. My only tiny minor complaint. No toilet paper in the toilets which were otherwise very clean and well maintained. I had a problem with my electrics I.e. The water pump and the staff were so helpful in helping me and directing me to camping supplies shop etc. 5 out of 5 stars for this site. Our next site on the way home as a stop over showed us how truly lovely camping domain d'Oleron was. And the Island stunning.   Dates of visit 24th June till 08th July 2016 James and Linda Dixon.

Lovely place

What a great site. We had a lovely peaceful time, easy access by bike to local area and coast, only needed the car to go to the supermarket a couple of times (that might explain why the car battery went flat!). Don't come here if you want to get away from the Brits. The site is run by some lovely people who are very helpful.

Just great and perfect position

This is our first time on this Isle and we arrived on 29th May and left on 12th June 2016 and we wished we had stayed a lot longer. Its a lovely site not too big but not small and has everything you want from a camp/caravan site. Annika and Freddie who run the site could not have been more helpful and made you feel welcome. Even the staff of the tents and statics were helpful. There is a good restaurant on site that is not expensive or its a 20 minute walk into St Georges where there are 2 very good restaurants and shops. There are some lovely little ports and miles of beaches on both sides only 10 minutes away. We are already making our plans to visit again next year.

May/Early June in St.George D'Oleron

Arrived at site via The Loire Valley. Very friendly and helpful reception. Nice site with good facilities with a nice pool and restaurant/ bar. Staff all very friendly and good pizzas. St. George was very quiet but had a really good bar, restaurant called Zest. Cycling on the island was great and very safe and you could visit all the towns and fishing villages on the island quite easily with most places having nice seafood. Will come back again next year but probably a little later when more places are open as some places were very quiet and had not yet opened.
