July 2018 - 4 night stay
Very friendly welcome when we arrived after a long drive from the Alsace.
Pitched in an area with other UK caravans.
Pitches were well kept and water (shared between about 10 vans) was readily available.
The toilet blocks were very clean although the toilets themselves could have been better lit.
Bins in a central area but kept clean and they appeared to get emptied on a regular enough basis.
Didn't use the pool but it looked clean and there was a play area for children adjacent with a bouncy castle. The play area was a in a separate area near the restaurant area and also had tennis courts, basketball etc?
The restaurant was clean, had a decent choice and was reasonable value for money.
There was a security guard who patrolled the site at night which was quite reassuring.
Areas visited included Dunkirk which really could do better with the history it has. We also had a day up in Bruges, about an hour away and well worth the journey as it is a lovely old canalled city. On our return from Bruges we went via Ypres to visit the Menen Gate where there is a ceremony each evening at 8pm commerating those who died in the war, it was well worth the visit too.
Another good couple of hours were spent at the Eperleques Blockhaus an old German bunker built to launch V1's and V2's during WW2. Its only about a mile from the site and easy to either cycle or walk.
We were going to Zeebrugge for the Hull ferry and that was as easy alternative to Calais where most visitors to the site appeared to be heading.
Would definitely recommend this site, its a good one !!
