Sadly Disappointing
We have just returned from a week at Le Chaponnet followed by a week at Chateau du Deffay. We expected the sites to be quite different, but not as different as it turned out.
Le Chaponnet had a very mixed clientele, in terms of age and nationality. It also had a buzz and vibrancy that was great, and we are sure to visit again.
Chateau du Deffay is very different. Around 3/4 of the caravans and motorhomes were from the UK, which was a real shock, The site has the feel of a Caravan Club site. This is good because we like Caravan Club sites; it is also not good as we didn't come to France to stay at a Caravan Club site.
Finally, the croissants from the site are not that good and were quite greasy. The ones from the local LIDL were much better and less than 1/3 of the price.
