Stayed a week in a caravan here because we wanted to explore the Basque region rather than the beaches.
It was quiet as it was April but we had a gran comfort pitch which was plenty big enough for the caravan, awning and car with a 10 amp supply.
Friendly welcome by the bilingual staff. Shower block was unisex which takes some getting used to, there was no soap or hand dryers and the water from one shower cubicle runs through the adjacent one to get to the drain.
There is a bar and restaurant which we can’t comment on as we did not use it, although prices in the general area are not cheap.
Beautiful lake with a variety of wild life which was a plus as we walked the dog around it daily.
Very busy and crowded
The location of this site is very good and it is also easy to access public transport, cost 1.4 euro to catch the bus to Biarritz.
The site itself was very full and the pitches are very narrow, our caravan with a sun canopy took the whole width of the pitch, there were no hedges separating the pitches, we had a caravan on one side of us which was only 2 foot away from us and a trailor tent the other side again less than 2 foot from the front of the awning. The amount of units that were crammed in made it dangerous. The facilities struggled to cope, the floor was permanently like a paddling pool, they were unisex and had men's urinals open on the wall, as you walked in you had to pass them. The showers were warm but the water for washing up wasn't, 5 amp electric limited what you could use in the caravan, certainly not a kettle.
It was quite noisy, a lot of dogs yapping in the evening .
We will be submitting photos to The Caravan and Motorhome Club to show how close the units were to each other.

3 night stay en rte to Spain & Portugal....
Nice spacious site with pitches set amongst tree lined paths which are narrow in places for maneuverability.....
MSP is set on a slope!
Easy access, ALL staff are multi-lingual.
A special praise for Johana as she wrote out details (word for word) for us to follow to get to San Sebastian via bus & train.
€5.50 per person return & had a great Pintxos lunch.
We only had a 5 amp EHU which had to be reset after I tried using my coffee machine so make sure you ask for 10 amp.....
All in all a great place with it's own bar/restaurant, pool & lake.
Recommended.
Stopover en-route to Spain
This site is only 1-mile from the motorway, so ideal if you are using as an overnight stop-over. As we wanted to visit Biarritz and St Jean de Luz we were there for 2-nights.
The access from the motorway and site access is very good.
The reception was very efficient, friendly and all the staff spoke very good English.
One word of caution - if you have booked a Serviced Pitch, make sure they allocate you a Grand Comfort pitch - all other pitch types are not Serviced (in our terms).
Moving around the site needs a certain amount of care, some of the turns are tight for a 13.5m car + caravan.
The site itself is beautiful. The pitches are well marked, in good condition and the whole site has a really nice feel about it.
There was one large facilities block open which was OK.
There is a restaurant on-site, but this doesn't open until 17-Feb.
The site has an indoor heated swimming pool and lake, park and beach area.
There is a E Leclerc hypermarket and petrol station about 1-mile away.
St Jean du Luz is a couple of miles away. There is a bus stop 200m from the site entrance.
This is a really nice site and we would be happy to stay there for a holiday.
Beautiful - next time will stay for holiday rather than stopover
Stopped here on way home from southern Spain having been down the Reims, Lyon, Barcelona route on way down. The site is lovely. Big pitches. Facilities are great and the other campers seemed far more respectful. What a relief as was rather disappointed by other overseas sites before we stopped here. There is a hyper market within walkable distance and a beautiful village to walk to with amenities. There was a small craft market on site and live music in the restaurant but it stopped at 11am so not intrusive. The water facilities looked great and, whilst we didn’t have time to walk to the beach, it is not far. Thoroughly enjoyed this site - restored my faith in overseas sites.
