Slightly Disappointed

Slightly disappointed, with the lack of entertainment for the older generation, of an evening, unless you are a drinker? Unisex toilets/showers sharing. Fasciities not thought out, especially men using the toilets, when washing up your dirty dishes?? Teenage children using the play park after 10.00pm, when security closed the gate, on till late still playing. Staff excellent, shop excellent. No Excursions available, although you are able to purchase tickets to Puy Du Fou, a MUST SEE. Beach 20 min walk, excellent beach, approx 5 miles very sandy, Free car parking (get there early) gets packed a lunchtimes.

Excellent for cycling.

Chose the site for the cycling, certainly weren't disappointed. There are miles and miles of way marked tracks easily accessible from the site. We biked as far as the island to the north with its lovely beaches and to Brem Sur Mer to the South. Good inland trails too to Challans and beyond to see the windmills. We managed 66k as its so flat and we are no spring chickens!  Re the site. Positives.... Good tennis court, friendly staff, well stocked shop, great grassy pitch.. Only negatives got noisier once the schools had broken up with little children everywhere on bikes racing around toilet blocks! Local beach a bit commercial but easy bike ride to more secluded locations. Good super u down the road. Roads not as busy as we thought they might be. Didn't use the pool. Takeaway was reasonable.  Would definitely return.

Great break

Went to 2 sites in France this year stayed at this one for 10 days, it is a very friendly site, food at the bar very reasonable and a good choice. Camping area toilet /wash facilities a bit small, but adequate. Play area for children great, pools great, good security on site, kept gate open late for a local fireworks display, two security people on gate till 12:30 am to let people return. Great for bikes / walks, good open pitches, all with water electrics, and waist water. Round and about lots to do, many of the campers return yearly, this says much about how this site is run great value for money.

A little disappointed

We stayed on this site in June 2015.  When we arrived were asked to choose two pitches from those that were vacant, which we did.  We should have taken into consideration that we were near the smallest facilities block on the site (two loos for gents and ladies and only four showers).  This was probably the business part of the site for caravans, motor-homers and tents.  Not impressed with the chemical disposal being directly next to one of the ladies toilets.  Pitches are spacious enough and as we were plumbed in and out we used our own shower.  There are lots of mobile homes on this site and some of the occupants were using our limited facilities too.  The newest, relatively large facilities block was placed right in the middle of mobile homes - didn't quite see the reasoning behind that.  It did state limited WiFi but as someone else has pointed out in this day and age it's not good enough - especially at 15Euros a week - perhaps we're paying towards improvements?  However, the staff were charming, the shop relatively well stocked and St Jean de Monts is delightful.  Two very large supermarkets a fifteen minute drive away.  We had a nice relaxing time but doubtful we'd go back.
