La Campina

The site was pretty full with people who were just " en passant " arriving today and gone tomorrow. As we felt with you, we had an excellent pitch. Views up to Sierra Nevada mountains with snow on them on our left, and olive grove with flowering almond trees amongst it in front of us. Each night the place seemed pretty full but only few of us stayed for more than a day or so. We were very fortunate to meet two couples who we found delightful company. Indeed we went off to the Alhambra together. So an additional pleasure for us. If I might say, however, there was no comparison with the lovely welcome that we received from you and your father which will remain memorable for us. AND we enjoyed the lemons which your father picked for us! I would have no hesitation in recommending ' Alto de Vinuelas ' to anyone interested. That is not to say that ' Los Lomas ' is anything other than more expensive. It depends upon what one is looking for. We both hope that you have a good ' season '. Please give our kind wishes to your father and, of course, to yourself. Ann and John Johnson with thanks again for a lovely stay at your campsite.

Almost perfect

Our prime reason for choosing the site was for visiting Córdoba which, thanks to Mathile and Ric's invaluable tips and information, was very enjoyable and worthwhile.  The site is small and friendly.  The showers and loos were some of the nicest and user-friendly ones I have used on a site in Europe - spotlessly clean, light, bright and airy, lashings of water for the shower with easy to use controls for varying pressure or temperature, sensible layout of shelf/hook.  Use of the washing machine was a reasonable €3 for a 30-minute 30 degree wash.  Definitely no need to use the dryer since the temperature was often in the 40's.  Only negative comment would be the road noise though during the night it was less so.  Pitches are quite dusty so we put the groundsheet down at the door, which helped, and we also craved shade during the heat of the day - the awning would have been useful but only intended to stop two nights but ended up for four!  A worthy addition to the Club's brochure.

A Lovely expetience

Just spent 7 nights at this lovely site - the owners and staff made us welcome throughout - the site is peaceful and provides access to the bigger Cities of Cordoba and Seville - both an easy drive. The site is small but the pool area is fab - toilet facilities fine and the bar and food area are great - met some lovely people. After some noisy nights on some bigger sites our stay was bliss.

Lovely site run by lovely people

We found everything about this site was perfect, it was very quiet when we were there in early June.  But the owners care and it shows in everything about the site.there is some traffic noise and the bus to Córdoba does take an hour.  We would definitely recommend the site as it is small with only about 40 pitches.

Fantastic

What a fantastic site. Relatively small site but all the pitches are of a reasonable size and well spaced out. The toilet block is small but kept in immaculate condition. The swimming pool is of a good size for the site. The owners are very friendly and speak excellent English. The site is easily accessible from the major motorways. I would highly recommend this site for both overnight and extended stays.

Disappointing visit

We booked 7 nights based on the good reviews we read. However, that was before the small site of 30+ pitches started booking in large travelling groups of campers. A group of about 30 units was booked in leaving the less desirable pitches for the rest of us. We complained and were offered a narrow parking lot for one of the chalets which was overgrown with trees and beside the laundry sinks. No thanks. It has been our experience over the decades we have camped, that if you book for longer periods - asay 7 nights, you get a pretty pitch where you can enjoy relaxing, eating a nice meal etc etc. We had absolutely no area to sit in and relax beside our motorhome. Fine for 1 night but not a week. Both sets of people who were squeezed in beside us apologised profusely and only stayed long enough to visit Cardoba then move on. We could stand it no longer so left after 4 nights. Did they refund our money? Not a surprising no. Our advice if you want to relax here is,  is check before you arrive as to whether a large group is booked in. If yes do not go here. Note too, that high season prices are charged mid May.

A Gem - 3 nights in March

A lovely friendly small site. The owners are really friendly and offer the bar and restaurant. The food is local and really good. The outlook is over olive groves, pleasant to walk through. The facilities are clean and good. It is positioned in easy drive distance to Cordoba and the owners can advise where to park motorhomes. One to return to.

A little Gem.

I stayed at the site for seven days and from entering the site you are made welcome with that real family feeling. A lovely small site set in the middle of olive groves, quiet and relaxing. Matilda, Enrique the family and staff could not do enough to help and all speak very good English. Most of the pitches are flat but some require levelling blocks. The food is excellent and the facilities, toilets, showers and laundry are spotlessly clean and after a long day out a dip in the outdoor pool is welcome. There is a bus service which runs to Cordoba a must to visit as well as many other lovely places such as Santaella and Ecija. The nearest large supermarkets, Mercadona and Dia are in La Carlota approx 6 miles away. Definitely a site i would visit again.

What a welcome!

Small site, just off the main routes, with wonderfully welcoming english speaking owners. Choice of pitch gave us unrestricted views of the surrounding olive groves, where we could walk the dog freely. The site was very clean and well served by its facilities (partly closed as out of season). Our hosts gave us lots of useful information about the area, particularly the location of parking so we could visit Cordoba in our motorhome (very limited buses on Sundays). The best thing of all was the restaurant - open only on demand out of season - a meal in the old house, with a roaring fire, 30 euros including wine and it was delicious! We will make a detour to return on our next trip to Spain!
