Not a good stay

We were a bit disappointed as we drove up to the site, it didn't look inspiring, the disappointment continued after we checked in and were told to park anywhere. As we drove round it looked more like a shanty town, sheds and covers everywhere, several caravans that looked like they had been dumped and were waiting for the scrap man to arrive, we saw several pitches that were just dirt where they had been covered for to long. We found a pitch and set. Wanting to cool down we walked up to the pool, the gates were locked which was good as the pool area was full of litter, and the pool itself was a nice shade of green. Let's try the bar, another no go,it only opens at the weekend, guess what, that's when the Spanish that use the site like a residential site arrive. The one good point was the shower/ toilet block, very clean, good showers and hot water.  Apart from the that the site was shocking. We were booked in for 4 days, with no other sites close by we were stuck. This was not the holiday or the site we had booked, I called the caravan club and was told the pool was contracted to open till mid September. No way did it go that green in less than 2 weeks. We felt badly let down by the club, as we could have been told about this when we booked several months ago. The photos on the club site seem to be taken from the site brochure which look several years old. The club offered a "generous" 15% refund. Which considering the false advertising lets them off lightly. Would I visit the site again, I think not,the area however was stunning, added to by the fact that the grape harvest was in full swing, laguardia and nereja are well worth the short drive. This is the problem with booking and being asked to pay in full several months ahead. Would I book another overseas site with caravan club, definitely not. I have several photos if anyone is interested.

Pea Soup but no food facilities

The site was easy to find, in a good location and comfortable.  But the pool in september was the colour of pea soup with edging stone work being possibly started.  There were none of the advertised cafe/drink facilities open at all.  The receptionist on arrival was unfriendly but did deliver printed information.  We had booked for some of the facilities and were not warned about the closures which appeared not to have been sudden, which was a disappointing end to our holiday. End of season

Location great, shower and toilet block spotless, best showers yet.  Good washing and laundry facilities. Sadly looked and was very end of season.  Pool, bar and restaurant closed which as they are almost a 12 month site was very disappointing. Pool looked filthy and very unpleasant. Many pitches bald. Some of the long term stay vans are almost delapidated which spoilt the whole look of the site.  Some pitches very small.

Great for a few days

Just spent five days here and it is a nice, well located site. Great pool, playgrounds and bar. We were in pitch 18 on the main track through the site from the entrance. The pitches along here seem larger than the others and are more accessible for larger vans. I would avoid the seasonal field as it is a bit of a free for all and, as you are in Spain, that means your neighbours will be noisy. Excellent reception staff too who made us very welcome.

Camping Haro - Excellent

What a great site! The pictures here don't do it justice. Facilities are super - good & very clean and the showers have plenty of hot water. Pitches are in a variety of sizes and you can pick where you want to be. Pitches have a good amount of shade which we actually needed as it was very hot when we were there. There was free WIFI at the bar but we paid for WIFI which was not at all expensive and was the best and speediest we have had abroad. We were there with friends and all agreed we would definitely go back there. We stayed for 5 nights and really liked the site and the area.

Short stay

This site is an ideal stop over when heading for the ferry home, easy access from the south and north of Spain. The facilities was spotless, showers excellent. We was instructed to use the pitches on the open field or amongst the season campers area, instead we chose the pitches at the very rear of the site I found the best for Brits abroad, (reception made it known they was not happy but accepted our choice. Some pitches a bit tight to access for larger outfits but not too much of a challenge with a mover. Like many Spanish sites it was noisy at the weekend until early hours of the morning "not what I would describe as anti - social noise" just groups of friends meeting up for the weekend and enjoying themselves. Lots of dogs barking from adjacent homes. The town of Haro is a short walk from the site, but up a short but steep hill, those with walking difficulties may find a challenge. It was early season so Haro was quite quiet the main restaurants did not open until 8pm "bit late to eat for us. No shop on site, site cafe only opened at weekend during off season but three Supermarkets just a short drive away with a good selection of local wine at a fair price. If I go that way again I would use camping Haro

Excellent stop-over

A good stop-over from Bilbao and we stayed 1 night on the way down and way back from Spain, although plenty to do in the town and round about if you have a longer stay. Good sized pitches, excellent atmosphere and friendly staff. The facilities are good although grey water waste can be a nuisance if not on a serviced pitch. Will definitely be staying again

Great stop over

We were here for 2 nights as we headed home from the south of Spain. Good location at the edge of the fascinating little town, excellent history, bars and restaurants and a pastry shop to die for!!! Site itself is a mixture of touring pitches, cabins and permanent caravans, who do have awnings etc but "shanty town" is a little harsh. The facilities were good and we would certainly return. Reasonable cost for pitch etc.

Haro

Stayed here on route to Santander ideal I suppose for this purpose but only as an overnight stop!! We booked & pre paid three big mistake pitches very tight, muddy, a bit shanty town looking electricity closer to only 3amps afraid toilets although clean loo flushes a bit so so. As I say a handy one night stopover have to say surprised club supports this site.
