Easter Alps Trip

Fantastic site for walks and Climbing including Via Ferrata, you can literally walk off the site and begin hill walking and its' suitable for all abilities. But if you and your family is of the mindset that Disney World is better than Neuschwanstein Castle, this site or lifestyle of camper van and motor homing might not be for you. Kayaking is possible using the river along side the site. The staff at reception are friendly and helpful and were able to give me a contact number for a local lady who is a mountaineering instructor and a mountain rescue team member, this could also be useful if I didn't listen to her properly during the climbing I did with her. She was very knowledgeable and got me onto the hidden routes close by at a resonable cost. Winter will bring guaranteed ish' snow and summer will bring sunlight and warmth at this site. The facilities are immaculate and the site also offers a bar and caffe. The electric hook up is metered, but never used any as my Camper Van never needs plugging in, unless the sun forgets to rise for more than a couple of hours a day (like Scotland or Scandinavian countries) and then my MB Sprinter turns into a Tiger Tank from the Second World War and 30 minutes of engine cycle is required to cook up some battery power. This off sets my green solar making power and makes it into a carbon deficit just like my V6 3.0L Diesel MB engine should be. Moving on, there are plenty of supermarkets near by and a fancy cake shop which could help if your family is not for walking or any other outdoor activity minded. All the pitches are reasonably sized and come complete with water, hook up and a gray water drain for caravan owners. So definitely worth a stay as a part of your bigger Austrian European Alps Trip. So, in a nut shell would I recommend this site and worthy of a Award by the CAMC, then YES' but I would also Award some other Sites I have visited in Corsica, France, Italy and so on. I think the CAMC have awarded Sexten in the past and I would recommend that one as well if your thinking of visiting the Dolomites.
