Perfect Site for Co Kerry & beyond

We travelled here from Dublin after staying at Camac Valley - a trip of around 180 miles. The motorways and main roads are good with a great service area at Moneygall named after Barack Obama! There was a good choice of pitches and the owners were very helpful on arrival. A mix of UK, Irish and European visitors on site. Excellent facilities for everyone including tents - if you have family of friends wanting to stay here in a tent while you are in your caravan it is ideal. The surrounding area is stunning - we visited the Dingle Peninsula (although it is a round trip of c120 miles), nearby Muckross House and Gardens and our favourite - the Gap of Dunloe, also nearby. On our first day we travelled 50 miles to Blarney Castle (to kiss the Blarney Stone!) and it was very busy, with an hour's wait to get to the top of Blarney Castle. Well worth it though :-) . The area is also ideal for cycling - whether leisure or road, plenty of choice in routes and locations. We didn't see a great deal of Killarney town centre with all our daytime jaunts. There is a good range of supermarkets nearby (Guinness was on special offer at Aldi!). Would fully recommend this site - be careful of the 180+ mile drive from Dublin though, you'd need an early ferry if you were to do it in a day
