Delightful site in the middle of Delft. Staff were very helpful and friendly.
Impeccably clean and modern facilities. Best I have ever seen for a campsite. There is a small shop but it is well stocked. A little cafe with pizzas is available most evenings.
The pitches can be small with not much room however we have #29 which was a serviced pitch opposite the shower block and it was huge.
The site was so quiet at night you could only hear owls.
Walk into the old town was about 15 mins. Excellent supermarkets available and lovey shops to browse.
Cycling was a dream and the weather, although thundery, was very hot.
Can’t wait to come back and stay for longer.
Excellent site very close to city
Stayed here for 2 nights at the end of April before returning to the UK after the Club's Dutch Bulb Fields & More Tour. Easy to find and access. Staff very helpful. Reception has very small shop which serves fresh bread in the morning. Pitches are wide
but access roads narrow. Very modern, almost futuristic facilities block with spacious dish washing area to the left as you enter and a laundry room to the right, just outside the main doors. Showers are divided into male, female and families and are "motion sensitive" operated (instead of pushing!). There is an outdoor swimming pool open in warmer weather and a children's playground. It's an easy 15min walk from the site into the centre of Delft or you can get the Shuttle that serves the site and various city locations. There is also a snack bar and a Brasserie which only seems to serve pizzas!
Overall a spotless site in a great location for visiting the lovely town of Delft. Also only half an hour's drive from the ferry at the Hook of Holland.
Delft never fails to impress.
This was the 7th year running we've been to this site- returned home on 26/7/19 after 2 weeks. The site & staff are still as good as ever. Weather was tremendous (although 40.4f was a tad warm on a couple of days but it is summer after all!). The whole area is stunning (and flat- a massive bonus for part time cyclists like us) with all manner of wildlife to see on your travels if you follow the green cycle route signs through the countryside. Grey Herons are sitting by the waterways everywhere you look- something you don't see in the UK, and White Storks are also to be seen quite frequently. In Delft in the summer there are various specialist markets (ceramics, antiques etc) as well as music festivals ranging from "popular" to brass bands to chamber music in the main square. It really is a delightful place to visit and the site is among the best we've stayed at, either in the UK or abroad.
And yes we've already booked for 2020!

Lovely site in a great location
We have just returned from a week long stay at Delftse Hout. We had a lovely stay on the site, which was beautiful and well laid out. The only slight disappointed was that the communcal buildings are quite tired. However and new facilities block is going to be build during the 2019/20 Winter, which the plans look fantastic. We took a Comfort Pitch, which included electric, water and drainage and had plenty of space.
The location of the site is excellent being only 35 minutes drive from Europoort Rotterdam. It is only a 1km walk into Central Delft, where the are plenty of places to see and eat, and a train/tram station offering links further afield. A must see is the Royal Delft Pottery. We also visited Den Haag, Amsterdam and Kinderdijk Windmills. If you are going to Den Haag, then a must see is the Escher Museum. Our kids loved it, especially when we went kayaking on the lake adjacent to the site.
Great trip and we will be returning at some point in the future.
Disappointed
Stayed here Sept 2018 overall very disappointed, First, let us make this review very clear and would like to point out at no time will this review criticize any of the staff on reception who are brilliant! However, the site well that is another story.
First, the pitch we had chosen was what they term here, as a “Comfort Pitch” however cannot see where the comfort starts and finishes in comparison to any other pitches on site. As to us, they are all the same! Unable to connect drainage pipes to drain as drains secured down so had to use waste hog! Hard standing well is it really. As all it turns out to be is, a section of fine sand & gravel which your caravan or motor home sits on just! However at the back of the van well this turns out to be a mixture of dead grass and mud which of course due to usage turns into mush so making connections and emptying anything on the offside of the caravan a little dirty on your shoes or trainers!
In the UK we are somewhat spoilt for choice as we tend to stay on sites under the banner of “Tranquil Parks” Now these sites are really “Comfort Pitches” why not look them up for yourself! Back to this site review, these are nowhere near comfort pitches! not when the caravan next to you is a couple of feet away and considering our little enclave had 5 pitches on it all within feet of each other (What ever happened to any rules about spacing and Health & Safety don’t think the Dutch have caught onto that one yet) its more pack them in and space them closely! The question here of course is what if a fire broke out the caravans and motorhomes are far too close together! So forgive us for saying, how can these be “Comfort Pitches”? The only views you get is into the caravans or motorhomes next to you or over from you!
The facilities, well let’s start by stating the obvious, and that is of course all of them are very well used daily by all onsite (which is quite a few in such a small space), a little dated you could say. For us men well first into the loo’s then out of them in to the basins cubicles and then out again into the shower cubicles all in different rooms of course! So be careful you do not catch cold. Another moan for the showers is their taps which constantly need you leaning against them to stop them going off every 30 seconds! Toilets! Well a word to the wise on this point, take your own loo roll as over the weekend, cleaning is not updated and therefore while we were there hand drying towels did not exist in the loo’s and there are no warm air dryers either, and also most had no loo paper in them!
The site does have a decent restaurant, which serves reasonable food choices from 16.00 hours every day, and there is a great park next to the site with some great walks and cycle paths.
As for staying here again, we think that would be a definite “NO”! Now when we next come across from Harwich to The Hook of Holland we shall just continue to drive right through Holland and out the other side!
Delightful Delft
Stayed for 3 nights in April, Super location on outskirts of Delft. Wasn't very busy when we stayed and rained the first day so popped into Ikea which is virtually next to the site! Walked into Delft the following day and excellent market with friendly stall holders willing to speak English. Lovely park and lake area next to site for walking around with dog. Took train to Amsterdam from Delft station which was straightforward.

Great site
We had a great time here. On arrival we were given a warm welcome. We were allocated a pitch and given a map of the site and told where all the amenities were. We had a barrier card if we wanted to use our car and for this you pay a €20 deposit which you get back when you leave. You can park by your outfit but if late back you have to park outside site.
The pitch we were given was a corner pitch with full sun for most of the day which was nice. Some pitches are very tight. You can pitch your caravan any which way you like.
The site facilities are ok cleaned daily there are washing up sinks and a laundry room with iron and ironing board tumble driers and washing machines.
There is a restaurant and bar on site. There is a take away facility but not open very late and some evenings entertainment is provided . There is a kids club we had no use of this but a German family who we spoke to said it was one of the best they had used. There is a small swimming pool but full of children so noisy, ok if you want to cool down. You can hire bikes €9.50 day tip if you want to hire one get it the night before you want it as they are popular.
We stayed for 3 weeks and used our car 4 times and that was for shopping. Public transport is great We used a combination of trams and trains. You can get the no 64 bus outside the site and it drops you outside the railway station and the tram stop to The Hague is over the road from the station.
We travelled to Utrecht, Dordrecht,Liedan, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Madurodam by train and or tram Kinderdijk windmills is worth visiting car park there is €5.
The city of Delft itself is lovely there is a market on a Thursday and Saturday selling fresh produce. Kibbeling is a must try .
The staff at the site are all friendly and very eager to help give ideas of where to go you just need to ask.
I would thoroughly recommend this site and would not hesitate to go back.

Welcoming and peaceful site
Although there are a lot of pitches, this is a clean and quiet site. Very well staffed so no long waits to being booked in or answering queries. An easy walking distance to both town centre and to lovely countryside. There is an arboretum (see entry) just across the road.

7.5 m Motorhome Aug17 11nights
Excellent location and site, mainly family orientated, very good facilities and on site supermarket/bakery.
The site staff were nothing short of excellent.
The pitches were a little tight as mentioned in previous reviews with our unit on the maximum allowed, there are two motorhome service points so there were no access and little waiting time problems.
Most motorhomes were there for a couple of nights only, so there was quite a high turnover.
Would definately stay there again
