We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this site. The owner is very welcoming and although the pitches are tight,we found them adequate and allowed us to put out our awning. We were close to the what appeared to be the more modern toilet facilities ; which were both clean and a good standard. The train noise was not intrusive as there are about 2 trains an hour and if you are out enjoying the beautiful countryside you won't hear them anyway! The lunch time closing is very irritating but sadly is very common across Germany.
Lovely Staufen in the Black Forest
Great site very helpful family owners. Toilets a bit dated but everything works well. The bonus is the Konus card which allows free travel on buses and trains throughout the Black Forest.
Super Spot
Great site with easy walk into Staufen village, which is a lovely place, with lots to do. Very friendly and helpful Site Manager.
Fantastic holiday on a wonderful campsite
We have just returned from a fabulous holiday in the Black Forrest. Ā Joachim was so kind and thoughtful, he helped us to organise our next two destinations in Switzerland and Rhineland. Ā Nothing was a problem for him. Ā We would definitely recommend this site to anyone visiting Germany. Ā We would love to return. This site is situated in a fantastic location for exploring the Black Forrest. Ā You also get a free travel pass to visit surrounding area including Switzerland.

A little disappointed
Our pitch was tight with both neighbouring vans but the noise from the busy main road and the closeness and therefore noise from the constant trains and the level crossing which was less than 25 feet away was excessive, and intrusive also the open air swimming pool was busy due to the good weather and so there were cars in and out at all hours,
The facilties desperately need money spending on them although the Black Forest is amazing the site can not sit on that alone and needs money investing in it and people should be made aware of road & rail noise when booking we will not be going back although on a more positive note the three brothers are very helpful but they do need to put their hands in their pockets, we won't be going backĀ

Pitches very small and facilities require update
Lovely location to make use of the supplied free transport cards that allow train, tram and bus travel for huge surrounding area.
As mentioned by many pitches are very small but this seemed the norm for German sites. Staff were helpful if you asked. Toilets , showers and pool although clean are all in desperate need of updating. Shop had essentials although opening was not as displayed and when asked stated they cater for numbers so if sites not got many guests that night they do not bother opening.
Train and traffic noise is audible but not disturbingly so.
Weather was amazing.
wonderful black forrest
Stayed here 4 times before now , did not get a pitch in main area next 2 entrance like we usually do.you seem to be allocated a pitch , so next visit i will not accept pitch if not happy with it! toilets in main block need up dating! Site is very nice but lacking updating ,shame ! weather is nearly always great here ,seams to have its own micro climate. the pool is lovely .the drive up to belchen up the munstertal pass is stunning .

Great location tight pitches.
Very helpful staff on this site and we enjoyed our stay, facilities clean but date although toilet block at reception the better of the two.
Short stay
Controversially I found the staff helpful. Lovely site and location. Great pool and river for children. I agree that the shop was very average. Water pressure in shower lousy! Reasonably clean.

Beautiful location BUT . . .
We have just returned from a four week holiday, including 6 nights at Belchenblick, a site we last visited 24 years ago. We can't believe some of the reviews we have read on here!
First the positives. The site is beautifully located, surrounded by the lovely Black Forest with innumerable scenic routes and charming villages within easy driving distance. It's also very close, easy walking in fact from the picturesque little town of Staufen. Across the road is the town swimming pool with free access given to campers, very popular in the hot weather we experienced. The location is the only reason we returned here.
We did not find the staff particularly helpful or friendly. They were not rude or unpleasant but hardly went out of their way to give us information or advice - just a list of rules. There were some slightly bigger pitches but we weren't given one; like most we were on a small pitch which felt rather claustrophobic at times, especially compared to the bigger pitches we are used to in France. The only water tap was over at the sanitary block - hardly convenient. We also remember from last time the regimented way we were told to pitch our van and car and things have not improved; since our mover was not working we found it difficult to put the van in nose first and even more difficult trying to get off the pitch - although some kind neighbours helped; just as well since, although we told the staff we would need help no-one appeared, though they were quick to come and read our meter, not taking our word for the figures (which were the same). it did seem to us that other campers were given more choice over how to set up their pitch - perhaps we were not as good at arguing in German.
The shop is not very well stocked and the takeaway offers 4 dishes and stops serving at 7pm. The sanitary facilities are in great need of refurbishment, very old and tired now - we were impressed by the standard of cleanliness on our first visit.
Don't get me wrong, we had a lovely stay in Germany and knew, more or less, what we could expect, wanting only to visit a beautiful area again. However, we are surprised this site is recommended and agree with the comments in the CC publication that there must be less expensive and more pleasing sites around.
