Fantastic First Stop In France
After the stress of crossing the channel during the first round of the Calais dispute, with Opstack in full flow (or not!!), it was great to arrive to warm smiling French staff at the site, who put us ease immediately.
We stayed here was 3 nights, but wished it was longer
We had a free choice of pitch, from a number available and settled in quickly. The amenity block was more than adequate, but there was no specific chemical emptying point. We were directed to muddle away with using the point where camper vans owners empted and filled their tanks. This was the only negative point about the site itself.
A good swimming pool, partly covered and walks by the river, which runs adjacent to the site (but is fenced off for the most part)
Guignicourt is a pretty French country town, with fuel (much cheaper than on motorway), supermarket and the usual French bread shop.
The site is just off the Motorway and only 16 km from Reims. The site manager suggested we try the tramway park and ride into Reims which is much more frequent than the train, but also much cheaper.
Reims is very much worth a visit. So much so we are actively planning to come to this site next year again
We were just two adults, possibly the site would not suit families, for longer that a stop over. But that said it was good for us.
