Angeiras Aug 3rd 2024 for 4 Nights
Should have paid more attention to the site description. "Difficult access for outfits over 6.5" metres. Our caravan is just over 7 metres. Almost impossible to navigate when trying to find a vacant pitch. Steep descents and hills on dirt tracks. Had to unhitch and proceed on motor mover twice to avoid hitting trees and unable to follow one way system due to acute bends resulting in need to unhitch a third time and reverse along track on motor mover towards oncoming traffic.
Then had to overcome the deep drainage gully in front of each pitch which ran the full length of the track. Had to breach the gully using old planks of wood aided by helpful member of staff who referred to pitches as "complicated"! Pitches were very uneven and had to park up at the very top of our wheel ramp on one side to be level.
The toilets were clean, but pungent.
Some 'private' pitch outfits were in a very poor state, diminishing the overall appearance of the site.
In stark contrast to the cramped pitches, the Restaurant and Pool areas were spacious and well maintained and the menus good and the staff exceptionally helpful. The shop had only a very basic range with hardly any fruit, but sold milk and fresh bread
The Reception would not accept our Camping Key Card and insisted on seeing each passport. Walked to the local beach about a mile away which was very windy and exposed and the sea quite rough. There's a cafe on the beach and at least one Restaurant. All the parking spaces adjacent to the beach were full.
Will definitely not be staying here again.
