Poor wifi
I have stayed at Rowantree park previously and was very disappointed on my most recent visit to find that the wifi was virtually unusable. I contacted the club and and received a standard reply including a hyperlink to the club website where I was informed that the site was classed as bronze level for wifi, i.e it was not suitable for uploading photos or for programmes like facebook. In previous years I have had no issue with the wifi but on this visit found it so slow that I could not log into the club website to make or amend my bookings. This poor standard of wifi and and miserable reply to my enquiry is not acceptable to me. Others I spoke to had the same complaint. Rowantree park is in a large city and I would expect a far better wifi service for the money I have paid (£25 for the year). Instead I had to rely on my phone and ipad to gain web access and virtually used my entire monthly allowance on both to do so.
Speeding is a common issue on club sites and the wardens appear to nothing about it. I understand a child was killed on this site in an incident with a motor vehicle some years ago yet nothing appears to be done to discourage speeding drivers and very young children on bikes blatantly flaunting the 5mph rule . Children are the responsibility of parents and it is down to parents to ensure that their children are not put at risk by speeding around the site, often in the opposite direction to the traffic flow but wardens need to enforce the speed limit for vehicles. 4mph is deemed as a brisk walking pace yet I frequently witnessed cars and motorhomes engage 2nd and even 3rd gear in what is a 5mph limit.
