We really enjoyed our stay on the site. Good facilities and superbly placed for York and staff really helpful. There is a lovely park nearby for the children and relaxation. One big problem was the trees on a few of the sites. We arrived late due to traffic problems and ended up on a really bad site. The trees had been just left to grow too big and allow large branches overhanging the pitch. The pigeons sleep on the overgrown branches and party in the evening and early morning. The noise is not a problem for us as we live in the countryside and used to this, but their droppings are a nightmare. Our new, dark coloured van was covered in droppings one night and although we washed it down when we got up we have still had to have the paintwork professionally cleaned to bring back the shine. Please do some serious tree pruning to remove these overhanging branches it spoils the site and causing other people to have the same problem as we had. I think there are only a couple of pitches that need looking at but it does need doing urgently.
