Great site for York city centre
We have stayed here many times over recent years. We love York and we love this site. So much to do within walking distance (Rowntree park, city centre cafes, restaurants, shops and tourist attractions, riverside walks, racecourse). Good cycle routes nearby as well. Frequent local buses provide access to out of town retail parks. If anyone fancies a day out, away from York, the railway station is a twenty minute to half hour walk away, with frequent trains to Leeds, Scarborough, Harrogate, Durham, to name a few.
The wardens are very friendly, work really hard and keep the facilities spotlessly clean at what must be one of the busiest sites on the network.
It's not a quiet location during the day, but that's not to be expected so close to a city centre. It is, however, surprisingly quiet at night. The temporary access route needs care if you are not familiar with the area. Other than that, a brilliant (if expensive) site, Book early to avoid disappointment
