Great location for York
The temporary approach to the site is easy to follow provided you follow the instructions given very carefully. The wardens were welcoming and keen to help and the facilities were spotless.
We stayed on pitch 15 which to be honest was a bit tight for our standard length caravan but the choice was pretty limited as the site was extremely busy.
This particular pitch and the ones adjacent to it are the other side of a hedge from a playground. This of course meant that it was very, very noisy from early in the morning til early evening. It was quiet at night.
We would avoid this side of the site in the future.
There is a gate which is used to walk into town at the side of the site for which you are given a key. This road leads to a lovely parade of shops and restaurants including a butcher, greengrocer and a Sainsbury’s local. You have to be home by 10pm if you want to use this gate as it is then locked and you have to walk all the way round to enter through the main gates to get access after 10pm. A minor inconvenience in our view.
This is a city site so expect it to be busy but it is ideally placed to visit the beautiful city of York.
